Clemens has a “surprise” for second start with Skeeters

Roger Clemens hinted he may have a “surprise” in store when he makes his second start for the Sugar Land Skeeters.

In the team’s release confirming that Clemens will pitch for a second time with the team on Sept. 7, Clemens said, “Stay tuned, I might have a few more surprises to come with the Skeeters.”

What could be more surprising than a seven-time Cy Young Award winner making a pitching comeback at age 50 is hard to figure but with Clemens you never know.

After not pitching in a pro game for five years, Clemens returned to the Skeeters and pitched 3 1/3 innings, allowing one hit and striking out two. He threw 37 pitches.
