Police have identified the man who led them on an afternoon manhunt in Smith County as 39 year old Sharmon Glenn James of Cedar Hill.

Smith County DPS has arrested the man who led officials on a short manhunt.

Officials tell KETK that around 5:15, a man was pulled over during a traffic stop on I-20, and was found with a pistol in his seat.

The man then took off on foot near CR 3119 and was caught just after 6:00.

The identity of the man has not yet been released.
