Tyler, TX (KETK) — For most of the state, including East Texas, dove season will start this Saturday.

But most avid and experienced hunters have been preparing for this for a while.

Local hunters tell KETK in order to not only have the most success out in the woods, but to also ensure your safety, you should be out at local gun ranges bettering your skills, to make sure you are ready for any possible situations.

And if you are planning a hunt in South Texas, you will have to wait until September 21st.
