Weight Watchers has created new versions of some of your old favorites by eliminating some of the sugar - and adding a sweeter alternative - FRUIT!
Naturally sweetened fruit is packed with both water and fiber - so it won't only help hydrate you - but will also provide a more filling drink
Soda, sweet tea and lemonade are staples at parties and picnics.
But drinking just one of these is the calorie equivalent to eating 2 cookies?
Weight Watchers created 2 "fruit-filled" alternatives that wiped out 1/3 of the calories.
First - Lose the Lemonade and instead, make Honeydew Melon Punch
-Combine chunks of melon and kiwi with diet lemonade - then mix in your blender
-After you strain out the excess pulp - add white grape juice and serve over ice.
Next - Substitute Sweet Tea for Raspberry Ice Tea Slushies.
-Throw all three ingredients into the blender: ice, sweetened frozen red raspberries, and ice tea · Then, just blend until slushy.
Now - onto the Adult Summer Sips.
Strawberry Daiquiris and Mai Tais can put you right into vacation mode.
But keep in mind that just drinking just one can be the calorie equivalent eating an entire candy bar.
Instead of putting the strawberries into the Daiquiri - add them to a Fruit Sangria recipe.
- Add a cup of red wine to 3 cups of low-cal cranberry juice.
-Then add in your favorite fruit; we're using chopped strawberries and apples - and just a touch of cinnamon.
-Stir and let stand for about 30 minutes and serve over ice.
Next -a cocktail favorite that doesn't need any tweaks - a Bloody Mary.
Its main ingredient is tomato juice - spiked with zest and spices.
Loaded with vitamin A and vitamin C, and fiber galore. Enjoy this spicy treat, but beware of the salt content.
Finally - look for simple swaps:
Be Mindful of Mixers:
1. Hard liquor runs about 100-200 calories per shot - so you could opt for a virgin drink
2. Or, keep the liquor; and swap out soda for diet soda and save up to 150 calories.
Make the cocktail your dessert:
1. If you can't resist a piña colada, then skip the apple pie.
Each will cost you about 500 calories.
