Pope Benedict the XVI woke up in Washington today -- it happens to be his birthday!
The Pope is making his first U.S Popemobile ride.

The stop at Washington D.C for this parade is one of many.

Other stops include a visit to ground zero in new york.

Vatican officials say this visit is to introduce the pope to American Catholics ... no plans for any big announcements while he's here.
