A pilot is recovering after crash landing into a Central Texas field.

The privately owned chopper went down just before noon. An F-A-A spokesman says the pilot tried to continue flying when the helicopter blew up.

He's listed in critical condition with second and third degree burns and was taken by helicopter to a San Antonio hospital.
