New details are coming into place in the late night shooting death of a trooper in Marion County.

Law enforcement officials tell us that a multi-county manhunt across East Texas and the southern portion of the U.S continues for Brandon Wayne Robertson.

Brandon Robertson, a former police officer with the Kilgore Police Department in 1995, shot and killed Trooper James Scott Burns after responding to a call on highway 729 on Lake O' Pines.

One of the witnesses say he saw a suspicious car drive in his driveway when Burns told the man to stop that's when the high speed chase started.
Thirty- nine year old James Scott Burns was killed on the scene. The shooter had a shot gun and fired several shots shooting Burns in the head.

James Scott Burns leaves a wife and a child.

Brandon Wayne is still out on the run he is 37 years old, described to be a white male 6'2 two hundred fifty pounds with red hair.
