28th Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

Food donations will be collected, sorted, and boxed for families. Volunteers from support groups, city officials, and media personalities will take the food from those who drive by, It will not be necessary for people to leave their cars. Those who donate will be interviewed briefly on TB if they wish. Board members will supervise sorting and sacking of food which will be done by non-profit organizations and other volunteers. All of the volunteers involved are planning to feed over 1,000 families. Several months before the event, applications are taken from families in need. The designated families will be notified ahead of time with a letter and will come by the collection at Maude Cobb COnvention and Activity Complex on Tuesday November 20, 2012 and pick up their food.
Donations: Canned goods, bread, staples, frozen meats, and monetary donations.
Each box will contain: 2 cans of green beans, 2 cans of corn, 2 cans of green peas, 2 cans of misc. peas or beans, 2 cans of soup, 1 bag of pasta, 1 canned meat, 1 dessert, 2 boxes of jello, 1 can of cranberry sauce, 1 loaf of bread, 1 canned fruit, 1 misc. vegetables, and 1 misc. cool-aid etc.
Families with 1-3 will receive 1 box and families with 4 or more will receive 2 boxes.
