One Night Without a Home
Tuesday, November 17, the Smith County Coalition for the Homeless will be sponsoring the second annual One Night Without A Home as part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, November 15-21. The Awareness Week is held nationally each year as an endeavor to promote education, action and awareness about hunger and homelessness.
The event begins at 5 pm with registration and dinner at the Salvation Army, 633 N. Broadway Ave. A Homelessness March will follow to Bergfeld Park, 1510 S. College Ave. The evening will include a Faces of Homelessness Forum, entertainment and sleep at the park. Security will be provided. (If temperature gets below 32°, we’ll return to the Salvation Army to sleep.
Breakfast will be served at 5 am by the Salvation Army Canteen followed by Lessons Learned and a Homelessness March from Bergfeld Park to Salvation Army.
Registration is open until Friday, November 13. Registration fee is $15 which includes a t-shirt and meals. T-shirts are available to pick-up at the PATH office. Register online - tylerpath.org.
