UPSHUR COUNTY TEA PARTY July 4th, 2009

Mark your calendar to attend The Upshur County Grassroots Tea Party rally July 4th, 2009 on the Upshur Country Courthouse lawn (100 West Tyler Street, Gilmer, Texas) starting with live music from the band, Voice of Light at 10:30 a.m. Join with like-minded Tea Party Patriots in hundreds of other locations around the country in celebration of our nation's birthday.

A young lady by the name of Cori Beasley, a senior at Gilmer High School, will sing the National Anthem and God Bless America. She made the Texas All-State Women’s choir for 2 years, State Solo and Ensemble, 3 years in High School Region Choir plus many other honors.

The keynote speaker will be Charles Stackhouse, Commander US Navy (retired). Background summary as follows;

Carrier Jet Pilot with over 130 combat missions and 450 carrier landings.
POW - Shot down in a dog fight with two Migs on 25 April 1967, six months before John McCain, and released 4 March 1973. Awarded; Silver Star, Legion of Merit w/ ‘V’ for valor, Distinguished Service Medal, Bronze Star w/ ‘V’, two Purple Hearts, 10 Air Medals, 22 Vietnam campaign ribbons.
