Gilmer’s Flight of the Phoenix Museum expansion plans include an airpark that will become the home of various historical aircraft.
Museum operator and military pilot Steve Dean approached the city about creating the airpark after his plans to acquire an F-model Super Sabre for the museum died, City Manager Jeff Ellington said.
Dean said he is looking to acquire a F-16 Fighting Falcon, a T-38 Talon, an A-10 Thunderbolt II, a F-4 Phantom II, a HH-43 Huskie helicopter, a SR-71 Blackbird and a T-2 Buckeye.
