As an evangelical Christian, Gov. Rick Perry is tight with the man upstairs. He just declared May 3 to be A Day of Prayer in Texas. He’s been quoted saying it was God who encouraged him to run for president in the first place. And he says God has forgiven him for the now infamous “oops” moment.

“America may not forgive you, but God will,” he said Wednesday morning in Austin.
