TYLER - Six hundred-thousand pounds...that's the amount of food that the East Texas Food Bank wasn't able to provide between 2006 and 2007.

The reason...funding from the federal government.

A farm bill which is up for another approval, usually makes room for food bank donations.

This includes canned vegetables and fruit, and other canned goods.

The farm bill, is re-negotiated and put-in place every five years, there's no telling how much money will be set aside this time around.

Current funding for these donations runs out on April 18th.
