SMITH COUNTY - When students in Smith County are removed from classes because of criminal conduct, they're sent to the "juvenile justice alternative education program" .

But the school district has to pay, to send them there.

Eight school districts in Smith County say, they can't afford to send students to the facility.

So far this school year, not one student from smith county has been sent to this discipline program.
