AUSTIN - The two Henderson County Deputies, who were gunned down by Randall Mays, were honored during the annual Department of Public Safety memorial service Tuesday.

The service was held at the DPS Training Academy in Austin.

Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst delivered the keynote address.

The 25-officers killed while on duty in the past two years were honored and a wreath was placed by Michaela Burns. Her husband, Trooper James Scott Burns, was killed last month in Marion County.
