LUFKIN-- State officials say that more than 200 Davita patient medical records are under review.
But they remain quiet on exactly how many died.
Investigators say they have interviewed family members and sifted through reports of deceased individuals as far back as 18 months ago.
The investigation is a joint effort by the State Health Department, Center for Disease Control and Prevention and Lufkin Police.
Texas law requires a 4-1 ratio of patients to staff.
Davita spokesman Michael Chee says the Lufkin center has always been staffed according to law.
Davita serves 100,000 dialysis patients in 43 states nationwide.
Lufkin Police say after a spike of deaths in April they were alerted that something just didn't seem right
For now patients are being sent to other East Texas facilities while the rest of the community waits for answers.
