Grant allows purchase of new vehicle

Jacksonville---The Daily Progress is reporting the city's fire department is asking for the okay to purchase a used ambulance along with their grant to purchase a new vehicle too.

The Daily Progress reports; Chief Paul White applied for the $35,000 grant earlier in the year.

And if given the okay by the city, the new equipment will be purchased through the Houston Galveston Area Council of Governments.

The new ambulance carries a big price tag: the grant will only help pay the total cost of just under $109,000.
