State budget shorfalls could mean big cuts for district

Jacksonville---The Daily Progress is reporting; all that red ink in Austin, means local school districts are eyeing budget cuts, including a pre-K grant that's already been cut for Jacksonville ISD.

Jacksonville Superintendent; Dr. Joe Wardell told the Daily Progress: “To make a significant difference, you have to cut personnel. It comes down to cutting programs and people.”

JISD Trustees meet at 6:30 Tuesday evening to discuss what the future may hold for the district’s budget.
