A Lufkin mother looked on Tuesday as her parenting skills were questioned on the second day of her jury trial.

Vanessa Clark, 33, is accused of child endangerment in the death of her 2-month old son, Tristan. When the boy died in July 2010, he was sharing a bed with his parents. Clark’s husband Mark is also charged but has not yet gone to trial.

While Tristan’s death was ruled “undetermined” by a Dallas County medical examiner, the autopsy notes he was co-sleeping with his parents.

After the testimony was permitted into evidence by state District Judge Paul White, Child Protective Services investigators took the stand to chronicle how the couple lost another child in 2009. The 4-month-old, named Christian, was also sharing the couples’ bed at the time of his death, according to prosecutor Dale Summa.
