LONGVIEW - State officials created a program to allow students to go online and take courses.

Longview ISD Spokesperson, Brian Bowman said, "What Longview High Schools goal is ultimately is to be the sole provider of all classes in Texas for the Texas Education Agency...so no other high school will be able to offer these classes but Longview High School."

In January, Biology, English ii and Geometry classes will be offered and officials say they have applied for 12 additional courses, they hope to be approved by spring.

Each course will cost $200 to $400, for students who do not go to Longview High School.

But anyone in the world is eligible to take these courses.

Bowman said, "Whether it be in Texas or Japan where ever, any student across the world will be able to go online and register for these courses."

Officials say the online classes are also beneficial for advanced students who don't have access to advanced courses.
