Police Officer Hospitalized After Attack; One Suspect Dead, Another Arrested.

A man is shot and killed after being involved in a high speed chase with officers.

It happened just before two thirty Thursday afternoon at a home off of F-M 319, and ended at the intersection of State Highway 155 and Weldon Street in Frankston.

Officials say it started as a home burglary.

The two men tried to get away in a car, but ended up wrecking it.

Anderson County Sheriff Gregg Taylor tells us once they crashed they got out of the car and ran.

Officials tell us one man was taken into custody right away.

The other attacked Frankston Police Officer Jason Ward—hitting him with an unknown object over the head.

He was shot and killed by police.

Anderson County Justice of the Peace Pct. 3 James Todd says the body will be sent for autopsy in Tyler.

The Texas Rangers are now investigating.
