It is tax day and along with last minute filers, there are a lot of people gathering to express their feelings about any number of things involving the federal government.

The tea party groups represent different things to different people. It can be anger over taxes, spending, the general size of government or simply what party is in charge.

But one thing they have in common is emotion.

The gathering in Bergfeld Park is designed to demonstrate the feelings of a growing segment of the population about the trends in government.

Like protesters throughout history, their individual causes may vary, but the target is a common one…Washington.

“It’s about taking back our country,” said one woman we talked to. “And we’re losing it fast. They have to listen because there are a lot more of us than there are of them…and it’s just going to happen, that’s all. I want to see our country go back to a capitalist country not communist. Obama’s is a declared Marxist as far as I’m concerned, the whole administration is.”

Some are worried about the increasing national debt, currently over 12-trillion dollars.

“it’s not all just about taxes,” one man told us. “It’s about the government being totally out of control and they’re going to take away our liberty.”

And some simply don’t like the direction being taken, particularly the new Healthcare Reform Law.

“They’ve got control of health care,” he continued.”They control the job market. They control the taxes. They control the schools. And then they’re going to control who goes to college and where the college is. And if that college doesn’t meet their criteria, they’re going to cut them.”

But for some, all of the above brought them here on April 15th…well, that and a chance to hear KETK’s Neal Barton…

“But there’s a whole lot more of us than there are of them,” Neal told the crowd. “And to quote that movie that came out in 1977, pardon me, but we are mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore.”

The crowd was energetic and committed.

Their next challenge, maintaining that energy through the election season.

I saw and heard Obama today say that he was "amused" at the TEA PARTIES around the country......

I think he will be less amused in 4 yrs!!!!

Such condesending words from our nations leader leaves its mark.
