Tyler, TX — We know ammo is hard to come by these days, with ammo shortage and assault weapon ban, it's a serious issue, especially for law enforcement, trainers and for competitive shooting.
KETK visited '31 West Shooting Range' in Chandler and spoke to a competitive shooter.
"Being a professional athlete in the shooting sports and being a firearms trainer i need access to the same types of firearms that everybody else has," says BJ Norris.
Norris adds,
"It would almost be impossible to to develop the skills that I need that I know use to train responsible citizens, law enforcement and military personnel."
Reports say, the shortage and restrictions on weapons, it's not just affecting training agencies but their budget as well.
A service rifle shooter from Lindale tells KETK,
"I don't think what they are trying to do, only affects law-abiding citizens like my self and probably everybody here," says Jon Seline.
Norris tells KETK, the gun control debate has gotten out of hand.
"I believe you'll see a hug ripple-affect, throughout the entire firearms industry and society as a whole."
