You Should Know: Boil water notice

May 5, 2009 - 8:04pm

EAST TEXAS - Due to conditions which have occurred recently in the water system, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the system, (Craft-Turney Water Supply) to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption in the area from

County Road 1510, 1513, 1535, 1539, and including the area on Highway 69 South from the intersection of Highway 69 South and CR 1513, for the next three miles going South on Highway 69.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, water system officials will notify you.

Am I in the "Boil Water" area? I am one mile south of Lookout Valley Drive on CR 4101. I don't know where CR 1510-1519 is located but I suspect it is near me.
