Roger is a broadcast industry veteran, most of that time spent in his hometown of Houston. He has been a program director, news director, business partner, news anchor and talk host in both radio and TV over the years.
Named one of Talkers Magazine's Top 100 Radio Hosts in America for 2 years, Roger also started the first news department at Metromedia's KRIV-TV and was a morning producer and anchor at KHOU, the CBS TV affiliate in Houston. He was also an assistant news director at Channel 39 across town.
For five years, Roger has been a partner and news/program director for Gleiser Communications, a chain of four radio stations in the Tyler-Longview market. His news department collected 36 AP awards in that time, including a couple for himself.
Roger traveled to the Middle East three times on stories, including covering the Gulf War and the Oslo Accords. He also was sent to cover four assignments in Europe that included the fall of the Berlin Wall, German Reunification and the Irish "Troubles." During his time as a broadcaster, he's interviewed actors, authors, world leaders and every president from Ford to Bush II.
