It’s documentary month at Liberty Hall, and the first showing is “Beats, Rhymes and Life: the Story of a Tribe Called Quest” on Thursday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m.

This documentary was directed by Michael Rapaport about one of the most influential and groundbreaking musical groups in hip-hop history: “A Tribe Called Quest” begins at the end, with a disastrous 2008 Seattle reunion show after which rappers Q-Tip and Phife Dawg swear they'll never work with each other again. Watch as Rapaport captures both the ongoing love and the tension within the band.

Then, catch “Buck” on Thursday, Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. Follow Buck Brannaman as he moves on from an abusive childhood to a phenomenally successful career with horses. A real-life “horse-whisperer,” he avoids the violence of his upbringing and teaches people to communicate with their horses through leadership and sensitivity, not punishment. A truly American story about an unsung hero, “Buck” is about an ordinary man who has made an extraordinary life despite tremendous odds.

Tickets are on sale now at www.libertytyler.com or, if tickets are still available, the box office will open Thursday at 6 p.m. for cash only at the door.
