1 arrested, 3 Dallas officers injured by bullet fragments
A suspect has surrendered after three Dallas officers were hit by bullet fragments while investigating
gang-related gunfire that left a man critically hurt.
Police say Steven Ray Jones is jailed on three counts of aggravated assault against a public servant.
Police on Monday night went to an apartment complex parking lot on a report of someone shot.
Investigators say Jones helped the wounded man into an apartment. The person suspected of shooting Alundo Demar Carrol
hasn't been caught.
Jones allegedly opened fire as police identified themselves and tried to enter. The officers, who were struck by bullet fragments
that ricocheted off a wall, were treated and released from a hospital. Police say Carrol has leg wounds but should survive.
No attorney was listed for Jones, who's held on $300,000 bond.
