One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a weekend crash in Shelby County.

According to the Department of Public Safety, at around 2:25 p.m., troopers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 87 about 3 miles north of Center.

Investigators determined the driver of a car, a 16-year-old boy, was headed south on 87 when they veered into the northbound lane and hit a truck. The driver of the truck was identified as Christopher Bryan Green, 28, of Elkhart.

Heather Elaine Green, 24, of Elkhart, was also a passenger in the truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Jim Powers.

The 16-year-old was taken to a Longview hospital and Green was transported to a Shreveport hospital. They were both listed in serious condition.

Christopher Green was reported as wearing a seat belt while Heather Green and the teenager were not.

The identity of the teen is not being released at this time due to possible charges pending the outcome of the investigation. This crash is still under investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
