Gregg County — Gregg County sheriff's officials tell KETK that a man was seriously injured this afternoon in a Highway 31 wreck.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. near the Smith-Gregg County line. Authorities say the driver hit a tree three miles east of FM 3053. It's unclear how the crash happened.

No other vehicles were involved.

Two lanes of traffic were blocked for a short time as crews cleared the roadway.

The man was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. His current condition is unknown.
