Tyler, Texas (KETK) —
The passenger on the three wheel motorcycle who was involved in the crash in the 5000 block of Paluxy on Saturday has died from injuries she sustained.
The victim has been identified as Margaret Moore, 67, of Tyler.
Police tell KETK a motorcycle was traveling northbound on Paluxy Drive at a high rate of speed when it struck the rear end of a vehicle that was also traveling northbound on Paluxy.
The drive of the motorcycle lost control of the bike and was thrown from it. According to the Tyler Police Department, he motorcycle slid into the southbound lanes of Paluxy Drive just as a three-wheeled motorcycle, or "trike" was traveling south.
The rider of the "trike" did not see the disabled motorcycle in the southbound lanes until it was too late. The "trike" struck the disabled motorcycle, sending the trike airborne and ejecting a Moore from the rear.
Prior to succumbing to her injuries, Moore and the motorcycle rider were both taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators believe alcohol may have played a factor in the cause of the accident.
This case remains under investigation pending toxicology reports.
