18-Million To Be Distributed Among Texas Fire Departments

December 21, 2008 - 12:21am
TEXAS - The Federal Emergency Management Agency is awarding almost 18-million dollars to Texas fire departments.
The funds come from the U.S. Department Of Homeland Security who've created a grant to assist fire departments across the state.
Locally, the Winona fire department gets over $90,000.00 in grants.
The firefighter grants program is an important component of The Department Of Homeland Security's goal, which is to strengthen the nation's level of preparedness.
