LONGVIEW - On March 25, 2010 at around 4:43 p.m., two subjects entered the drive through at the Texas Bank and Trust at 1801 Gilmer Road and attempted to use a fraudulent driver’s license to cash a stolen check that had been forged.

Off-duty Longview Police Officer Josh Marrs was working security at the bank
and detained the two suspects as they attempted to leave the drive through.
Back-up officers arrived at the scene and the passenger in the vehicle, Raymond Roach, was removed from the car so officers could place him into custody. As officers began to arrest Roach, he broke free and ran from the parking lot. Officers chased Roach into a wooded area where he was captured by Officer Marrs.

As Roach was being arrested, he threw a handful of papers into a creek. The
papers were recovered by officers and determined to be five forged checks. One of the checks had been stolen from a mailbox earlier in the day. The driver of the vehicle, Shelly LeFevre, was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and was also arrested.

Both Roach and LeFevre were booked into the Gregg County Jail.
