Two FBI special agents were killed Friday during a training exercise off the coast of Virginia Beach, Virginia, the bureau said in a statement released Sunday.

"Special Agent Christopher Lorek and Special Agent Stephen Shaw were assigned to the FBI's Critical Incident Response Group. The cause of the incident is under review."

An official who asked not to be identified told CNN that the two agents were killed in a hostage rescue training exercise.

The official gave no further details.

Hmmmm. In Arlington Texas about 7 years ago the cops had a hostage training exercise at a high school in the summer (when there were no students.) Some of the trainers had lunch at some place and one of them loaded his sidearm. Later, as the class went through simulations the trainer FORGOT to unload his gun so he could use simulation ammo.

In class he ended up shooting another trainer in the head (yes killed him.)

I wonder if the FBI forgot and used a real weapon in the class.
