2 fires overnight in Lufkin

LUFKIN - Lufkin fire officials say two fires took place overnight in Lufkin, resulting in the destruction of one building.
Around 9 p.m. Thursday, firefighters were first called to the scene of a burning car in the 500 block of Lazy Oaks Street, where they quickly put it out. Investigators believe it is the work of arson.
An hour later, fire officials received a call for help involving a burning metal storage building in the 500 block of North Medford Drive. The fire engulfed the structure and it was destroyed before firefighters could put it out. Investigators say it was caused by wiring issues and do not suspect foul play.
