2 injured, major wreck on Paluxy Dr. in Tyler

TYLER, TEXAS (KETK) — Tyler Police responded to a major traffic accident early Saturday morning. The accident happened around 12:30 a.m. on 5000 block of Paluxy Dr.
It's reported a motorcycle was traveling northbound on Paluxy Dr. at a high rate of speed when it struck the rear end of a vehicle that was also traveling northbound on Paluxy Dr.
The rider of the motorcycle lost control and was separated from it. The motorcycle slid into the southbound lanes of Paluxy Dr. A different three wheeled motorcycle, or trike was traveling southbound on Paluxy Dr.
The rider of the trike did not see the disabled motorcycle in the southbound lanes until it was too late. The trike struck the disabled motorcycle, sending the trike airborne and ejecting a passenger from the rear of the trike.
The rider of the motorcycle and passenger from the trike were transported to East Texas Medical Center and Trinity Mother Frances. The rider of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries.
The passenger from the trike suffered critical injuries and is the Intensive Care Unit. Accident Investigators are still investigating the accident at this time. Investigators believe alcohol may have played a factor in the cause of the accident.
