There was a fatal accident this morning involving 3 workers at a construction site on Cherokee County Road 3113 in Jacksonville.

At around 9 am this morning, a cement crew was working on a retainer wall when officials say...  it suddenly collapsed killing two construction workers and injuring one.

The 2 construction workers who were killed are Donald Starling, 60, and Hollis Morris, 68, both residents of Tyler.  Morris’ son Ronald Morris was the worker who is injured, he is suffering from a broken pelvis.

Firefighters responded to the incident taking about a little over 3 hours to remove the bodies from the scene.

Construction workers were working on a 15 ft. tall, 40 ft. long, 1 ft. thick retainer wall.
Officials say... they used a shovel and their hands.

One construction worker stood at far distance with emotion, sad to hear the news of his friends and coworkers.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's office and OSHA are investigating. They are sending someone from Dallas to check the construction site.
