LUFKIN - A two-car, head-on collision on a rural
East Texas road has killed three people.

The crash happened about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday on Farm Road 842,
about five miles northeast of Lufkin. The Texas Department of
Public Safety reports that a northbound car crossed into the
southbound lane and slammed into another.

Dead at the scene were both people in the second car,
72-year-old Billy Simms and 68-year-old Joyce Simms, and the lone
occupant of the first car, 20-year-old Jerry Matthew Miller. All
three were from Lufkin.

The crash remains under investigation.
