LUFKIN - 5 people are injured following a head-on collision.

Lufkin police say, it happened about 8:00 Saturday night on Southwood Drive.

Police say, the driver of one of the cars tried to pass another in a no-passing zone before hitting a truck in the on-coming lane.

The 4 people in that truck, were taken to a nearby hospital.

The driver of the car, was also brought to the e.r.

The accident remains under investigation.
