75 years for convicted sex offender in New Boston case

NEW BOSTON — A convicted sex offender has been sentenced to 75 years in prison for sexually assaulting a mentally challenged man in Texas.
A jury in New Boston ordered the penalty for 32-year-old Steven Wayne Morgan, who was convicted Wednesday of aggravated sexual assault of a mentally disabled person.
The 29-year-old victim testified that Morgan called him several times on July 5, 2009, before picking him up outside a floral shop in New Boston, located 150 miles northeast of Dallas.
The Texarkana Gazette reports Morgan took the victim to a mobile home and sexually assaulted him, then threatened to shoot him if he reported the attack.
DNA evidence linked Morgan to the sexual assault.
Morgan in 2005 received 10 years of probation for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in Oklahoma.
