Tyler, Tx — Today, Wednesday August 1, 2012 was declared "national chick-fil-a appreciation day" by fromer Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. It is reported that 500 thousand people are expected to go to all the Chick-fil-A's in the country to enjoy a meal and to support the well-known chicken chain and the views of Chick-fil-A president's recent statements in the press.
One local Tylerite described the scene today at Chick-fil-A on Broadway saying, "The turnout was fabulous we came from the south and it was backed up by sandy's ice cream today."
The recent controversy surrounding the franchise president's comments, him speaking out about his opinion on Christian values and same sex marriage, has got people for miles and miles coming to support the values of this well-known fast-food hot spot.
Some people of Tyler that were there to support told me that It's just good for Chick-fil-A because it shows Tyler how much people are Christian.
And of course people are coming out for the food too!
It is also reported that gay rights activists will be protesting at the restaurant chain today as well calling their silent protest "National kiss-mor-chicks" day. Where same-sex marriage supporters will also go to chick-fil-a and display public acts of affection to show their pride and to protest.
Although KETK didn't see any protesters here today, we did see a lot of supporters of Chick-fil-A this just goes to show how many strong Christians are making an effort to come out and support—and of course eat.

"this just goes to show how many strong Christians are making an effort to..."
WOW! "strong Christians"? Faith is now measured by one's opinion and appetite? Evidence of faith is found in their fruit not in a fruit cup!
It's funny how long the line is when it comes to support a cause that comes with the waffle fries.
It's a shame the same "Strong Christians" don't have a line just as long to help those Jesus described in Matthew 25:34-46. Put down the chicken and look it up "Strong Christians"!
