A new Lindale art school works to bring life back downtown

Monday, April 1, 2013 - 10:46pm

An old downtown building in Lindale has been turned into an art studio and school within the last few weeks.

Maureen Killaby decided to rent the property from the city in order to have more room for her and her students.

But since the doors have opened, she has seen more and more foot traffic in and around her new place.

Killaby says she has seen a strong positive reaction from the community, and she hopes, in just a small way, she can help revitalize downtown, and continue to help her students.

Killaby will have her official grand opening at 6:00 on April 27th at her school/studio at 110 East Hubbard Street in Lindale, but is already signing new artists up for regular and night classes.
