Abused Longview dog finds loving home
Tyler, Texas — Longview dog, Spike, has been at Kimbrough Animal Hospital in Longview this week recovering after being shot with over 40 pellet gun shots.
Since Spike's story ran the East Texas area has been eager to help. Over three thousand dollars has been donated to cover medical expenses, some even coming from the United Kingdom.
While Spike has lost his left eye throughout his abuse, he has now gained a new set of loving owners. The Yoder family of Longview has adopted Spike. Amy Yoder says while the donations are important, what the family really wants is more information. Saying, "We're getting a really great dog.I would love it if anyone who had any information about this would be touched enough to let the police know so no other animal gets hurt like this again by the same person."
Spike will receive further treatment for heart worms and ear mites after he fully heals from the wounds.
If you would like to donate to Spikes' recovery, you can do so at the Longview Humane Society or Kimbrough Animal Hospital.
