TYLER — On Friday, East Texans lined up to see "Act of Valor."

The action packed movie is based on a book -- and the stars -- are real life active duty Navy Seals.

We caught up with East Texan Hank Douglas as he was walking out of the movie.

"One of the best movies I've ever seen.  Being a former marine, I can relate to those guys...and what they do.  The sacrifice...it's phenomenal.  My son was in Afghanistan so...I got to see it with him.  It's pretty cool," Douglas said.

Douglas says with real ammunition, and real Seals, there wasn't much "Hollywood" about it.

"Very realistic, very realistic...you can tell that the guys are not actors, those are real Seal team guys...I mean they do this for a living," Douglas said.

Outside of the theater, the Navy took the opportunity to raise awareness about their branch of the military.

Jordan Phillips is from Tyler.  He's a diesel mechanic in the Navy and excited about Act of Valor.

"Those guys, they go through a lot of training so that when you go to bed at night and you close your eyes you aint gotta worry about somebody coming over and getting us.  Those guys are on watch.  All day, every day," Phillips said.

Not everyone in the U.S. is excited about the movie.  Some think the acting should have been left -- to actors.

But Douglas says he doesn't have anything bad to say about the movie.

"They do this every day...this is their job.  And as Americans, I mean...anybody that doesn't like a movie like that...hey man...need to leave," Douglas said.
