TYLER, TX (KETK) — An elderly man and a store employee are injured after an aggravated assault.

At 11:43 a.m. on Sunday morning, Tyler police were called to Super Monterey in the 500 block of SSW Loop 323.

When authorities arrived on scene they were told that a large fight had broken out leaving an elderly man and an employee injured.

Gerardo Bastida, 46, of Tyler, had come into the store and began hitting an elderly man with a crutch inside the store. A store employee attempted to stop the fight and was stabbed by Bastida.

Officers arrested Bastida and he was booked into Smith county Jail with aggravated assault charges.
