All nine victims of shooting were Americans
KABUL, Afghanistan — The brother of an Afghan officer who killed nine Americans today says the gunman had financial problems.
But he says his brother had no ties to insurgents.
Eight American troops and a U.S. contractor were killed by the gunfire, which followed an argument during a meeting at the Kabul airport.
The gunman was also killed.
Officials said it was the deadliest episode to date of an Afghan turning against his own coalition partners.
The shooting took place in an Afghan Air Corps meeting room at Kabul airport.
