Tyler, TX (KETK) — The man charged in the shooting death of Chris Mass in February 2013 will make a court appearance on Monday morning in Smith County.
Ricky Neal, Jr., 26, was arrested after the incident outside of the Broadway Square Mall in Tyler, which police say was the result of a Twitter dispute.
Neal and his girlfriend were reportedly shopping for shoes at Champs in the mall, when Neal entered into an argument with a group of men. Neal claimed that one of the men had been "tweeting" his girlfriend.
The argument moved to the parking lot, where Neal allegedly pulled a gun and fatally shot Mass, a former Chapel Hill High School and SFA athlete.
Neal was taken into custody in the parking lot and was charged with Murder. Tyler Police later determined that Neal also shot at man named Jonathan Lamone Dews, and added the charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
On Monday at 9:00 a.m., Neal will appear before Judge Kerry Russell in the 7th District Court. KETK will have a crew in the courtroom, and will update this story as it develops.
