AlleyFest wraps up 35th year to mixed reviews

The final day of AlleyFest 2013 received mixed reviews Sunday as officials said the event — in its 35th year — was a huge success and some vendors were less enthusiastic.

Missy Saunders, special events director for the Longview Chamber of Commerce, said she couldn’t have asked for a better turnout.

About 150 people walked through downtown on Sunday, taking in music, vendors and art as temperatures hovered around 75 degrees.

Charging a minimal fee for parking is one thing but otherwise it should be free to attend.
