Almost 30 dogs in poor health seized from Gilmer home

Seventeen dogs and 10 puppies were seized Tuesday from a residence in Gilmer after investigators said they were cruelly confined.

Members of the Texas Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals removed the dogs and puppies based on information received from the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, according to Maura Davies, spokeswoman for the Texas SPCA .
