UPDATE: The Department of Public Safety announced the abducted child, 10-year-old Jake Davis, was found safe and the suspect, 20-year-old Brandi Williams, has been taken into custody.

 

Original Report: The Denton Police Department has issued an Amber Alert for a 10-year-old child allegedly abducted in the Dallas area.

Authorities are searching for Jake Davis. He is described as a white male, 10 years of age, 4 feet 3 inches, weighing 85 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown shirt with vertical stripes and jeans or a grey polo shirt with a guitar on it, grey shorts and blue/grey high top shoes.

Police suspect the child was taken by Brandi Diane Williams, 20. She is described as a white female, 5 feet 1 inch, weighing 115 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. The suspect is driving a red, 2002 Ford Explorer with Texas License Plate CPJ-3756.Williams was last heard from in Denton, Texas.

The amber alert system is certainly becoming very effective. The last two I've seen have resulted in the capture of the abductor within 4 hours. That's pretty impressive!
