On Monday, the brand new Rusk County Veterans Monument was unveiled to the public at the Rusk county courthouse in Henderson.

It was revealed at a ceremony, consisting of music from the Henderson High School Choir, and the Mt. Enterprise Band, along with a number of speeches, including one from Congressman Louis Gohmert.

After his speech, Congressman Gohmert presented a purple heart to Vietnam Army veteran Douglas Morton from Kilgore, an honor he should have received decades before.
